screenshot of the CollaborATE comp site proposal CollaborATE - Timeframe: current - I am working with a group of graduate students at Vanderbilt University on a grand-based project designed to foster innovative ideas on campus. They asked me to design the user interface and web applications for their site, which asks students to sign up using their e-mail addresses. Use of MySQL allows for development of a database that can interact with web applications, allowing the project to pick four random participants, a meeting location and two potential conversational topics. An e-mail notifies participants of the particulars. The site is set to go live sometime during the spring semester.

screenshot of the Up and In soundboard Up and In Podcast Soundboard - Timeframe: Winter 2011 - As a holiday treat for fellow listeners and as a way to exercise my Flash muscles, I set out to create a soundboard for Up and In: The Baseball Prospectus podcast. I previously developed a logo for the podcast, and incorporated some of that visual style into a single-page soundboard design. Each sound clip was taken from downloaded podcast files, edited into a memorable fragment and then attached to a "button" on the Flash-based interface. Given the size of some of the audio files, the project required a short loading sequence.

cover of the 2011 Rialto Festival of Trees program Festival of Trees program - Timeframe: Winter 2011 - My internship with the Gammon Group involved a host of different projects, each requiring work in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Quark and more. My biggest project involved design and execution of the 2011 Festival of Trees program for our client, the Rialto Square Theatre. I met with the client, developed comps for the cover and inside styles, inserted provided text/images and learned how to output the project for printing. The end result represented a project seen through from start to completion, as well as a host of design skills needed to create materials worthy of one of Joliet's most festive occasions.     Note: File is in pdf format and 18MB in size.

screenshot of the Exelon corporate training PowerPoint presentation Exelon Corporate Training Intranet - Timeframe: June to August, 2011 - My internship involved the redesign of Exelon Nuclear's corporate training sites on the company's intranet. These sites, developed using Microsoft SharePoint, serve as information hubs with forms, news and updates for employees. I worked with various employees to clear unnecessary content and gather multimedia materials. Then, I used HTML and JavaScript to make the sites more visually appealing. This included image maps, slideshows and rotating displays. These sites are not available to the public at large, but a PowerPoint presentation of my work is available upon request.
